Will Detroit always be a terrible city to live in? |
Travel Info Very poor schools. Trashy neighborhoods, Terrible roads, Crime, drugs, No jobs, no tax base, Will the city ever make it? Travel Tips The city has gone too far down the drain, and it can't be saved. Maybe in thousands of years it may be a decent place to live. But not for thousands of years, and the way the world is now . . . it may never get to that point. I relocated to Detroit for work several years ago. I only stayed for 2 years, couldn't take it anymore after that. Detroit is a depressed city and it's falling apart day by day. It's very sad, because it used to be a very prestigious city. We've become so used to the fact that Detroit won't recover for a very long time, that even the late night comedians have given up with the Detroit jokes. Detroit is just a city to store the poor. The Detroit government needs to realise that they need to stop spending there money on sports teams like the Tigers and Red Wings and fancy new parks, because Detroit doesn't need those things now . . . it needs shelters for the poor, and an efficient police force, who actually do there job. If it wasn't for the sports teams and the car companies . . . the rest of the country wouldn't even know Detroit existed. "Always" is a long time. I foresee a day, certainly within the next 1,500 years, when normal people will actually want to live there. Granted the time is closer to the end of the 1,500 years, rather than in the middle or early on, but at least it will not stay a hole forever. Hope this helps. look I live in aus but watch US doings regularly and dont feel it can make it at all, sorry if that makes you upset but you should really get out if you can while you can, I think it'll only get worse.. thanks It's a cesspool |
