North American International Auto Show????

Travel Info
So I am the world's best girlfriend and am taking my boyfriend to Detroit for the auto show in Jan. for his birthday present. How many days should I purchase the tickets for? Does it only take one day to go through or should I get tickets for 2 days? If we only go one day we could go to the Henry Ford Museum and tour the factory....I don't want to feel rushed to do so much in a weekend, I am also getting Pistons/Celtics tickets for one of the nights of our stay.

Travel Tips
i assume you're renting a car? the piston's play a ways away.... if he's a real car nut you will want the 2 days at the show. however.... if you don't already have hotel reservations in detroit prper, you will probably not get them so.... one day would be fine. the henry ford museum is more than a car museum - see the whole thing - it's great! you might want to get a room by the palace (gracious i think that's where the pistons still play) the night of the game and take a shuttle in - the traffic can be horrendous and for an out of towner....
you too will have fun at the auto show! i will make a female recommendation - dress in layers and comfy shoes. cobo hall is large and you'll be walking a LOT. the layers is because it should be quite cold there - scarf is a must as the winds whip off the river from canada.... take a camera and make sure you take a moment to head outside cobo, toward the water to Hart Plaza - it's a neat spot in between Cobo and the GM building (aka Rennaissance Center). when you need to take a break from the show - jump on the people mover and head to the RenCen (gm building) and do lunch there - it has some nice things to see itself.

have fun!!!

Others
i would think one day is plenty to see the new cars. go to the Ford and get the tour to see the new plant. sounds like a good time if your a car nut. have fun
One day is sufficient to see the North American Show
If you adore Chrysler's- see their museum on Chrysler Headquarter grounds

Not waste your $ on seeing The Henry Ford car museum on the Northwest corner of the grounds
make sure you purchase your plant tour tickets ahead of time-
there are only so many times and reserved seats available (you take a bus to get there)

All I can say as a former Detroiter is, Wow, you are the worlds best girl friend!!!
Please send my wife a note. :)
I would agree that one day is enough to go to the auto show...but make sure you get there early! It gets quite crowded the later you go.
I hear the factory tour is pretty awesome and Henry Ford Museum is also another "day trip".
Have fun at the Pistons game! They are awesome!
You are sweet, but it is coooooooooold here in the winter.
I think you can cover the autoshow if you go right when it opens in at most 4 hours.
THe pistons play in auburn hills 30 miles away, but I think you can catch the game the same day as the autoshow.
I would make a whole day of the henry ford....the rouge plant is close to the henry ford, but im not sure if its open weekends
After the auto show, try to eat at pizza papalis in greektown...you can catch the people mover from COBO hall where the
autoshow is held.
The best bet is to fly in friday, and fly out monday, its a lot to cram into two days
You are more then just a great GF you are absolutely wonderful. If he ever leaves you just come to papa.
