Public transportation to & from Metro Airport? |
Travel Info Is there a way to get to and from Detroit Metro by public transit -- busses or trains, but not counting taxis or rental cars? If not, is Detroit the only major airport without such access? Travel Tips There is no public transit. I live in the area and go to the airport alot....it is the worst as far as getting transit without renting. Good luck. Others I think there's a van service between the suburbs and Metro. It isn't really public transit, but it's not a taxi per se. It's like one of those car rental customer shuttles you see at the airport. Then there's always MetroCar - But the last time I took it from Auburn Hills to the airport it was $120 - ouch. I don't think there is any. I've seen lots of taxi's, but never seen any buses. And definately no trains or subways. About the ONLY thing you can do is drive, and that means rent a car or pay up the yahoo for a taxi. I don't know if we are the only airport, but we are definately ONE of the airports without such access. do get me started on Dertroit i had the same problem. It cost me 40 dollars each way to downtown detroit and about another 40 to get to henry ford mueseam. SHAME SHAME ON DETROIT FOR NOT BEING MORE VISTOR FRIENDLY Sorry, there is no public transit to and from Metro Airport yes, the motorcity is lacking in that area There are plenty of cities where the light rail doesnt go into the airport....LAX is the example that comes to mind.... yes it does kind of suck, but give us 20/30 years and we will have it worked out. Probably because Metro Airport is so far from the actual city. What some enterprising souls do is to go to one of the many hotels who offer free shuttle service to the airport. |
