How are the roads in detroit over thanksgiving?

Travel Tips
I've lived in Detroit all my life. Michigan can be unpredictable as most Michiganders know, but generally speaking, the road conditions should be fine. This is what I have noticed typically for this time of year. If we get some snow, (always a possibility) salt trucks will be out in force making them just wet or slushy, especially during a Holiday. If you travel towards Jackson you could get additional snow compared to Detroit if a "storm" is around, as you are getting closer to a snow belt in Kalamazoo.

Make sure you have good tread on your tires and a front wheel drive vehicle minimum. Unless we get some wierd storm, I don't think you would get any adverse conditions for this time of year. The ski areas are just starting to open up, and that is from man made snow and not the natural stuff. I am with the National Ski Patrol and have done lots of winter driving around Michigan. I always take my car into an empty parking lot at the beginning of the winter driving season when it is slippery - and practice some sliding around in a safe area to get the feel for my car again and how it might handle. This will foster confidence in keeping your vehicle under control should a situation arise.

Don't let some cold weather and a possibility of some snow stop you from enjoying this beautiful state. The general rule is to slow down for the conditions and add extra distance between you and the person in front of you. Follow this rule and you should arrive safely.

Others
they suck as always.
endless construction on every road, all year long, plus extra barrels on weekends and holidays just for kicks....i sware someone must be playing a cruel joke, because most times i see barrels reducing lanes with knowone doing any work, not even any trucks.
straight up nutz. especially because the lions play. even though they suck.
everything should be fine. The weather is usually around the 40's and very rare to see any snow that early in the winter. And Jackson is fine. You will have no problem.

Most of the construction period has finished for the season, as winter is approaching. So should be clear sailing. But you never know about Michigan's weather.........strange things can happen in Michigan. But Dec. 5th was the earliest date I ever saw any big snowfall to concern yourself with. I don't think you'll see any snow on the roads at all. maybe a few flurries, butr nothing more. Don't worry, these people above me are being pretty negative, and are exhaggerating somewhat.
go to weather.com, you can't Predict the Weather so wait a Couple Weeks.
