Can someone tell me the type of terrain that Detroit has? |
Travel Info Can someone tell me the type of terrain that Detroit has? Travel Tips I'm a little perplexed by your question. Midwest (although why we're considered mid-west is beyond me, we're closer to being north eastern) certainly isn't mountainous by any means. City proper is flat...nothing like SanFran where you gotta train for cardio just to get around. The other answerer is correct, there's rolling hills as you go north....but nothing like southern Ohio. If you plan on visiting...crime rates are higher lately (due to rampant unemployment, and various other reasons)... be cautious, be careful. I've lived around this city for nearly 40 years, and although I don't live in the city proper, and my visits downtown are infrequent (other than Eastern Market, there's little reason for me to venture there)...I have never been mugged, shot at, car jacked, or otherwise harrassed. Downtown doesn't have much anymore...shopping - pretty much gone. There's a quite few restaurants and bars that survive by the grace of sports arenas and concert/conventions. Others DETROIT HAS BEEN BURNED TO THE GROUND BABY.................. flat. its just a big ole city. wear running shoes and a bullet proof vest. Its been burned down. I love my city but we really need to try ta clean up our act. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 crack head Michigan is basically flat as a pancake. A few hills in other parts of the state, but around Detroit it is just flat. |
