What is the stereotype of downriver Michigan?

Travel Tips
Hillbilly's, red necks, white trash, trailer trash

Others
It refers to people who live "downriver" from Detroit. Like the Monroe area. The stereotype refers to people who live in those areas are hillbillies and rednecks.
white trash and rednecks, although I would really like to argue with that. Im from downriver and I now have a career in music in NYC. We arnt all trashy.
trailer park trash.
it's true.
i've been there.
the main thing i know from living there all my life -- the majority of the people downriver (excluding trenton, woodhaven, Grosse Ile and a couple other towns) are normal blue collar people. they are generally 2nd generation - grandparents were immigrants and sometimes parents. some areas are very cozy and homey. the bad thing about some people from downriver - they don't travel outside the area. they think the world begins and ends past detroit and the airport. some will travel but.... they are generally good hearted hardworking people.
the idiots who are claiming trailer trash apparently haven't been to wyandotte, trenton, grosse ile, etc.
lower middle class hillbillies with few teeth in their heads
