Travel Info well as a joke! all the industrial places sum up to a giant..well....factory! lol! Travel Tips no. it's not really all that industrial looking. downtown, i mean. i guess parts of it are or surrounding areas. downtown is a bunch of buildings. Others No, its not a giant factory, its a giant toilet Detroit has a great entertainment industry as well. The city has really made strides for changing its downtown atmosphere. I made a visit a few years ago and stayed at a downtown hotel. It was a lot of fun. The casinos, Greektown food (sooo good), and great music in the park. No, Detroit is not a giant factory, it is however very industrious and industry is a necessary evil. Great shopping and don't forget Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum in nearby Dearborn. It's more like a giant welfare factory....they just keep churning them out.... It is called the motor city for a reason there are many factories running and abandoned around the city |
