Is Dear born, Michigan a good place to visit? What kind of things can I do there? |
Travel Info I might go there soon to visit my cousin, I just want some info. I've never been there before. Travel Tips I have been to Dearborn several time to visit my favorite car museum, The Ford museum and Greenfield village should keep you busy for a few days. Other than that it is your typical US working city, lots of automotive related industries, quite a few nice bars and restaurants, I would recomment you go, it will be worth while. Not much else, but lots of great middle eastern food. I grew up in Dearborn and there is a lot to do there! Like the others, I agree The Henry Ford (as it's now called) is a must see! There is also an IMAX theather there as well, you can take a tour of the historic Rouge Factory where they make the F150 (i think it's the F150) www.thehenryford.org for more info. It also depends on what time of year you plan to attend, in the summer the first weekend of August they have Dearborn Home Coming a large festival at Ford Field (not the home of the Det. Lions) a park in Dearborn. They also have several other festivals through out the year. Ford Field also has the best sled run in town...although we've not seen a bit of snow. There are tons of resturants they have recently re-done Michigan Avenue the "main street" through town and it rocks! You are so close to so much, there is tons to do in Downtown Detroit as well, and it's not as scarry as many people say. I really recommend you come and check us out, your cousin will have plenty for you to do and see I am sure! Have fun! Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield village. try some greek food like the Parthanon and then get urself down to greektown for evening fun. I agree with everyone Greenfield Village, The Henry Ford Museum and the Imax Theater are cool places to go. You have to go eat at La Shish on Michigan Ave. They have the best Middle Eastern food. Another good restaurant in Dearborn is Pizza Papalis they have great Chicago style pizza. You can go shoot pool at Bailey's, there's Cheli's Chili Bar. In Detroit there's Greek Town, casinos, Mexican Town, Hard Rock Cafe. Detroit Institute of Arts, The Detroit Science Center, The Renaissance Center. Right now the North American International Auto Show is going on it's open to the public starting January 13th. Hope that helps! I live in suburban Detroit. |
