Why are the lines always so long at meijers? |
Travel Info They have like 30 places to check out but only 10 lanes open. They don't have baggers so now the lines are slower. Why is this? Travel Tips Now is an especially bad time for retailers, they've let their "seasonal help" go because they don't have the hours to give (I know that's weird for a 24 hour store but it's true). I love Meijer here and even if I have to wait, I've been enough I know by looking which cashiers to avoid (young, slow, etc). Don't give up on them they have the best produce and meat. Also re-evaluate when you're going, if it's possible, go at a different time. Others u live in d-town cool i used to live on warren st. their probably not that many employees to handle such a large amount of customers I am wondering why this question is a travel question about Detroit, Michigan? I agree miejers is the best all around place for groceries, until they open a walmart super center. I thought i had beat the system when i went shopping on tuesday night at 10pm, but that night there were only two cashiers open....one 12 items or less...and the other one, with the old lady in it.... I wish there was a line for non-retarded customers, that allways seem to find items with no price tag, or can't find their coupon, etc..... I also wish there was a One item ONLY!!! line, when you just want to buy one thing, and pay with a debit card or cash. I've asked myself the same question thousands of times. Also during the holidays the lines are backed up all the way to the clothes! I try and use the self check out as much as I can. I love Meijer but sometimes it's just too big to run in and get something. Forget going there on Saturday and Sunday afternoons--I lose my patience very quickly. Meijer shopper Simple there is not enough help,. this do to the cost they spend on payroll. Most stores are given a budget for the week to spend it include payroll, lease, heating and cooling, security,devilry costs, alarm systems, etc,etc. In order to meet the budget, payroll is the easiest to control. so they trim it through out the week . Theft is another reason why there is never enough help, most of the time a dishonest employee is let go in middle of a shift. |
