Travel Info ok i'm planing on going to Detroit this weekend Satuarday and Sunday but i need a place to stay what are some good but cheep hotels in Detroit? please name roads what they are on. and ill be hanging out with a old friend from school who i use to date got any idiea what we should do? i'm marred now and my friend knows that so nuthing to wore about any feed back will help thanks Travel Tips If your staying in ina place in the burbs, i recommend the AAA travel book there are a million different hotes and motels. If your going toward ANN Arbor there are lots of cheap hotels, like the Fairfield's or Best Westerns or Holiday Express or the Marriot.. Most of these are right off the express way i would go to mapquest and to a road trip... i went to Chicago using a program called street express and this maps all the hotels and has address and phone numbers. i suggest going to a starbucks (those are just about everywhere and u are pretty safe going to those. ) Restraunts, SeaFood, i recommend "The Big Fish" located in Dearborn. If you want cheap, eat at White Castle's there are good restraurants like coney islands where u get lots of food for the bucks.. If you want to stay someplace cheap in the detroit area, i would stay in the burbs, cheap in detroit, might not be too safe.. I would say the Dearborn in (Marriot hotel) about 100 a night or less maybe 87 for a single room they are located on Oakwood , just past Rotonda in Dearborn20301 Oakwood Boulevard Dearborn, Michigan 48124 USA Phone: 1-313-271-2700 Fax: 1-313-271-7464 Sales: 1-313-271-3899 Sales fax: 1-313-271-6682 There is an Imax theater across the street and the Autohall of Fame and museum. Great Restraurant and bar and try the Crab cakes and the Belgum Waffles with strawberries with baccon and syrup are fantastic. If you want night life the Big fish has live entertainment on weekends... IF THEY ARE TOO EXPENSIVE TRY THE bEST wESTERN..... OR THE hOLIDAY eXPRESS1 888 HOLIDAY OLD FLAMES... SOMETHIN IS GONA HAPPEN... HAPPY CHEATING..... Others A cheap place is Romulus near Metro Airport. You 15 - 20 on FREEWAY from Downtown. A variety of Hotels to choose from without the Crime Hassle that normally scares the crap out of TOWNERS. WELCOME TO DETROIT<<<BANG>>>> SORRY WE MISSED YOU. This weekend is the perfect time for you to visit the city! There having the annual winter fun fest down town, lots of food, a 4 story sled hill downtown!! , and plenty of other winter events. You could also check out a pistons or red wings game. If you want to go to the winter fun fest stay downtown, theres plenty of hotels im sure you ll find a good one you like. Good luck and i hope you enjoy our city, contrary to popular belife its not that bad here. Stay in nearby burb Dearborn which is nearby Detroit has many motels there is a Residence Inn and Double tree? on the corner of Southfield freeway/ and Ford Rd Marriott Courtyard is on Mercury Drive/ near Ford Rd/Greenfield Rd i know it's a little late to be answering your question - but I'd recommend staying downtown - proximity to Greek Town, proximity to some nice clubs and bars, Windsor is a 15 minute drive away (carry your passport beginning this Fall - but you're ok for this trip), the MGM Grand is right there, and so are a few other casinos. Recommended cheapest places - Ramada Inn on First and Main or the Town Apartment and Suites on 1511 First Street. Not fancy at all, but they'll get you tucked in for the weekend, and let's face it - you're not going to stay locked in are you? (what with you being married and all!) |
