Others well I Live in a suburb of Detroit name Redford But I live in south Redford which Is good, however it just depends on what type of money you wanna spend But trust me, If you wanna live here live in the burbs. I don't really hang out in Detroit till summer then there's Lot's of things to do, the museum district is good, there's some nice park here especially near the waterfronts(in the burbs only). But downtown they festivals in hart plaza in downtown Detroit that's cool there's alot of things to do just depends on what you like. I don't like Chicago I mean I visit cuz i have family there but I wouldn't wanna live there, that place is crazy. Don't go to either. Head to Toronto. In Detroit, we've got the Tigers and the Lions (who SUCK!) and you'll probably get mugged or shot. I rather like Chicago... Chicago is a much more thriving Urban city with a great many things to do. Detroit is experiencing an rebirth along Woodward Ave., converting old vacant buildings to loft residences. Detroit has Museums, art, the theater, but not to the same quantity as Chicago. My friends and I go to Chicago several times a year, but we also head downtown Detroit to experience what Detroit has as well. I grew up between Chicago and Detroit. Chicago has much more going on. Nicer architecture, clubs, festivals, etc. Detroit is OK to visit. I wouldn't chose it for a vacation spot but it's alright to see when you're in the area. If you were going to chose between the two to live, I'd say Chicago. As far as where in Chicago, well that depends on what you're looking for. Grew up in Detroit. The city has a bad rap and because it is such a huge city it has good and bad parts. Anything near downtown or Northland Mall is bad. Other cities near Detroit such as Southfield, Farmington, Novi, West Bloomfield, Livonia, etc, etc. are far better. Detroit is mainly known for the automotive and currently unemployment. |
