Excitment in or around Detroit?

Travel Info
Ive lived here my whole life but never really got out to see much. Im looking for fun things within an hour from downriver. Im in romulus, if you know where that is. I have a 1 1/2 year old daughter whos at the age where we can do some fun things. This past week we've been to jungle java, urban toddler, bouncing off the walls, pump it up, Cosi, and we were going to hit up fantasy forest and the rainforest cafe but Im interested to know what else is out there, doesnt have to be kid oriented, just something other then the usual mcdonalds, bob evans, cracker barrel, or pizza.

Travel Tips
Detroit Historical Museum- check out the streets of old Detroit in the basement
The Science Center- human bodies stripped of muscle/tissue covered in polymer

I don't know if you'll find this as excitement in the Detroit area, but the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village are really nice places to visit. Greek Town offers some excitement during the evening hours (good restaurants and music). Venture over to Windsor Canada (be sure to have your passport)...the country side is beautiful once you head south towards Lake Erie or towards Toronto. Look in the local paper for places and events to attend.
Pick up Metro Parent. They have cool things to do for each day of the month. They have it at my library and dr. office or check on line.
How about a trip to a real working dairy farm with the freshest ice cream and tastiest milk. Lots of other animals to see also. I like the fact that they bottle the milk in old fashioned glass bottles and you can still get natural "creamline milk". http://www.calderdairy.com/

A fun place for you and your daughter to visit is IKEA in Canton, She'll enjoy smalland, while you enjoy shopping for domestic bargains http://info.ikea-usa.com/ikeavirtualtour...

Under 2 years old get free admission at the Ann Arbor Hands-on museum, lots of fun thinks to touch. http://www.aahom.org/visit/index.htm...
