Why is it said that "There is Nothing To Do In Detroit?"? |
Travel Info When I use to live in the Detroit area, I heard the expression "There is Nothing To Do in Detroit." Why do people say that Detroit has nothing to offer when the city has so much opportunities including sporting events, museums, comedy clubs, and restaurants? Travel Tips people are too lazy to be creative and find fun places to see or things to do Others i use to live there back in pre 1975.. couldnt wait to get of legal age to get the hell out. I don't understand that either. I love going to Detroit. You always have a sporting event or concert going on. All the casinos and you have to love Greek Town. well they say detriot is like cleveland, i live in cleveland. theres alot of clubs and museums and stuff too, but its still really boring...theres just nothing to do...its boring Born and raised here in Metro Detroit. After the riots in 1968 there was the "great white flight" to the suburbs. Detroit suffered badly, and has never really recovered. People say that cause everything that attracts local crowds is in the suburbs. All the best shopping, museums, restaurants, and concerts are all outside the borders fo the city of Detroit. But, the city is making a marginal comeback... casinos, two new ballparks and their immediate areas, and kennedy square is coming along as well.. But, you still don't want to be anywhere near 7 & gratiot, and theres far more bad than good. But, in the end, its the town I was born in, the area I was raised in, and if you don't like it, go home... Ignorance or laziness prompts this unfortunate answer. A little investigation will prove otherwise.
