Good neighborhood in Detroit, near DMC?

My honest opinion is there is no "good" neighborhood in Detroit, the closer you get to the DMC the worse it gets.

try dearborn or grosse pointe, they are good cities, not far from DMC. obviously you don't want to live in the city of detroit
Check out the Ellington Lofts they just finished contructing on Mack and WoodWard or They have lofts and Condos in Midtown and the WSU campus. However, I definitely recommmend Brush Park off Woodward and I-75. They have beautifal mansion that have recently been restored from their 1930s nostalgia.

Suburbs like Grosse Pointe are the main reasons Detroit can't suceed because of Suburban Yuppees like the one above me. Move to the city. Shopping is available at the Reinaissance Center, Merchants row in Downtown, New Center Place, etc. Also, Cass TEch (best high school in America) is just walking distance and one of the best universities, entertainment is walking distance, ost of all however, the Urban Magic that you can't feel in a crappy suburb.
