Comerica Park Ticet Scene? |
Travel Info Hi, I'm heading out to Comerica Park this summer. Can anyone ggive me info. re: getting tickets around the park? How is the pricing looking with "independent brokers" around the park? Would it be easier to go to the window? Thanks. Travel Tips Comerica is an okay ballpark, not a bad seat in the house, but it lacks the charm of the old tiger stadium. That said, you can get tickets on the street but make sure you are at least 500 yards from the stadium. There is a local ordanance that forbids scalping near any entertainment venue. It's not like being at Wrigley where the neighborhood is a hub a ticket re-sellers. I was arrested for selling 40 dollar tickets to a grandfather/grandson duo for 10 bucks a piece. The grandfather/grandson weren't working for the police, but the undercover guys were standing right next to us when we made the deal. boo hoo. It was a hassle and I'd hate for you to experience the same thing I did. Personally I'd get tix at the gate - or on stubhub, ebay, craig'slist - in lieu of buying them from a street vendor. Avoid the funkiness of counterfeit tix and brushes with the law. There are a ton of good places to eat and drink in the area around the park, but I'd park at a lot near Greektown and take the people mover to Grand Circus Park. The people mover cost .50 cents and is a monorail that runs in a circle around downtown. Kind of dumb in comparison to the el in Chicago, but much cheaper than the 30 bucks you'll spend parking next to the stadium. Others dont buy from a "independant broker" aka scalper |
