Travel Tips Being from northern Michigan, I had a very bad opinion of Detroit until I went there for a weekend trip with a friend recently. We stayed at the RenCen and had a great time shopping in eastern Market and looking around downtown during the day. We had a great dinner at Pegasus in Greektown before heading to the casino. The people in downtown Detroit were very friendly. They seem to really appreciate having visitors there. It feels safe to walk around downtown at night. The People Mover was very convenient and the cheapest public transportation I have ever been on. Get to know the new Detroit. The place is getting better. Others Its better than some other travel destinations. Try the I-80 its boring. Because you obviously don't know the area well. There is so much to do and see in the city and surronding suburbs. Ah, quit trying to be so confrontational. I can see picking on Cleveland, but why Motown? There's alot to do. Get a hooker, buy crack...It's all up to you! Go 2 my party store Maybe it is your point of mind and could depend on where you coming from. Detroit and the burbs are a fantastic place to visit. We drive to Detroit once a month to visit and aways enjoy the nice drive. |
