Magnus park in Petoskey, Bayfront Park, etc. are popular areas to search but tend to be crowded. * Polished and prepared stones can often be found at many of the gift stores in the Petoskey area. We found a vast collection of them in Traverse city while vacationing. Your best bet is to go to Mackinac City at about exit 335 or 336 (on I-75) and go to the state park at that exit. it is there that you will find the states largest petoskey stone.
