Detroit danger (pt.2)? |
Travel Info i already asked this question but i need to be a bit more specific...so would it be safe for three seventeen year old girls to go to a concert at St. Andrew's hall in Detroit at around 6 - 10:30pm by themselves? Travel Tips okay, i used to go to detroit when i was your age all the time - granted that was a good 20 years ago and many things have changed - however some things havent. 1) park in a well lit area and keep to the main street TOGETHER 2) don't take a big purse or wear lots of flashy jewerly or spikey heels (this way you won't draw unwanted attention) 3) know where you are going - relax and enjoy walking through the area but don't be too confident - keep your eyes open and walk with confidence 4) WHEN (notice i didn't say if) a group of guys comments or such - just keep walking at the same pace. don't antagonize them or get all jittery - that's what they are looking for - attention 5) keep a cell phone handy (mine was like the size of a small shoebox back then LOL) 6) have a fairly full tank of gas (seriously) 7) don't drive too fancy a car 8) have a great time!!! Others probably no trouble for me Honestly, I would let my 15 year old go. If they have lived in the city all their lives and have a few options on how to get home and numerous ways to get in contact with people I wouldn't be too worried. I would be more worried about my children in a small town than in a city like the "D." are they white girls from Bloomfield hills? If so, do not act like a sissy or get into a stretch hummer with a bunch of thugs. Heheh. Just kidding. I used to hang out down there all the time 鈥?like 10 years ago. 3 Floors of Fun. 6 p.m. is very early. Don't dress too revealing either.. Don't wanna give anyone the wrong impression. Up to you. yes but dont leave with any strange guy have someone's folks drop them off and pick them up after the concert The hall itself if ok and parking should be fine but I would not letting anyone wander around the city at night if they are not from there. |
