Is the Detroit bus terminal in a mean part of town? |
Travel Info Is the bus terminal in Detroit a bad area if I show up there at 6am will I be alright? Travel Tips Do you know of any bus station that is in a good part of any town? Detroit is no exception. The bus station isn't in the best part of town, but you didn't really expect it would be, did you? The improtant point: is it safe at 6AM? yes, it is safe, but I wouldn't plan on hanging around. Get your bags and move on, if you are on a layover, store your bags in a locker and walk across the freeway to the casino and eat at their buffet. The Casino is about a 1/4 mile away and a walk will do you good after being on a bus all night. At 6 AM you won't have any problems, and I think you'll be impressed by my city at that hour. The sun will be just coming up and everything will be dewy and fresh. Others i wouldn't do it if i was a female from 15 to 40 on the weekend you should be fine just be aware of your surroundings like you would in any big City It all depends on which bus company you are traveling on. I would suggest avoiding Greyhound at all costs! They are about to undergo another major labor dispute and their service right now is the pits! Consider trying Megabus instead, they serve Detroit with a stop near Grand Circus Park and have really nice buses and lower fares then Greyhound. Also, remember Amtrak serves Detroit several times a day and also has some pretty good prices. Still Megabus is about the best I think. www.megabus.com No worst than other big cities, just do the usual and watch yourself and don't walk around too much, stay in one place close to other people. No, you will get gun down by some Black Niggas, OF COURSE YOU'LL BE FINE! Just pick up or get picked up or dropped off and leave. |
