What are some things to do near DTW (detroit int. airport)?

Travel Info
we have an 11 hour layover...but will only be able to do something for 7 hrs once out of the airport.

Travel Tips
It depends on the time of day but in Romulus there isn't much to do there besides eat.
You could go shopping, eat or catch a movie on Eureka Rd in Taylor there is plenty of those things to do there or like the others have said Henry ford museum is nice.
Others
Detroit Metropolitan Airport is in Romulus and not in Detroit. There is not much in the forms of entertainment but there are many restaurants in the area. If you can rent a car for about six hours, I would suggest you go to The Henry Ford and see the Henry Ford Museum or Greenfield Village.
If you are at the McNamara terminal there's plenty to do. It's like a big mall.

i will second the henry ford museum or greenfield village. depending on when you might also want to check out the surrounding things going on "downriver". for example the 2nd weekend in july is the art show in downtown wyandotte - it's a nice juried show with fun things to do and see. you could also jet to ann arbor for a quick stroll through the apple orchard or along the huron river.
what are your interests and when do you have your layover.... shoot me an email if you'd like more detailed asnwers.
Well if u go down Northline Rd which will be the oppisite way of I-94 there is sum shopping once u hit Telegraph Rd. The Henry Ford Museum is not that far, or u have the Greenfield Village is in the area of Henry Ford Museum. Southland Mall is probably 10mins east of the airport. On Eureka Rd. If u wanted to venture out a little farther u could take Eureka Rd all the way down to the Detroit River in Wyandotte MI its about 15-20mins. East. U wont miss it. There's a park there and a old downtown part with little botiques. Sumthing else that i could reccommend is going to Lake Erie Metro Park for a few. Its right on the water and is a amazing.
If u r looking possibly to go to Detroit Greek Town is pretty awesome. its all Greek food and Greektown Casino. Also The Detroit Institute of Art or DIA is amazing as well.
Soo good luck!
