What's the best way to Comerica park from Clinton Township? Where do I park free? |
Travel Info Ok everybody i'm going to watch my New York Mets beat up on your pathetic tigers saturday afternoon. I'm coming from Clinton Township I 94 area. What's the best way to the stadium. Also, someone told me that if I park at a casino its free. What is the closest casino to the ballpark? How do I get their from I 94?? What's the walk like from the casino back to Comerica? How is parking free in a casino?? Please explain everything to me? What highways are closed that I need to avoid?? Thanks in advance. Lets Go Mets 2007 World Champions Oh by the way I have 1 extra ticket to saturday's game if anyone is intersted! Travel Tips You are going to hit the construction zone on 94 long before you get to 696 . Not knowing exactly where in Clinton Twp you live, it's hard to give exact direction, but if you work your way along Metro Parkway WEST to Mound, you can come south on Mound to 696 West and then to 75 South. The closes casino is Greektown. You can park in the structure and then get your parking stub validated before you go to the game. I have forgotten to do it this way and it has cost me $20. To get to the Greektown casino, take 75 South to 375 South. Get off at the Lafayette exit. You will follow Lafayette past the casino. You will make a right turn on Brush street and the deck will be on your left. For the most part, follow the traffic. It is about a 5 minute walk from Greektown to Comerica Park. After the game, it will be extremely difficult to get out of the deck and back on your way home. HAVE PATIENCE. Others You can go down 94 to 75 South and get off at Mack or follow down 375 and get off after Ford Field. Parking for free is tricky. I suggest, if you definately want free parking, park on the east side of 75/375. And then walk over the bridges. Any closer or east of 75/375 will require paid parking. If you think 94 construction is crazy.... Go to 696 west to 75 south. Follow 75 down to the park and follow the instructions above. Good luck and go Tigers! Basically go down I-94 and then take I-75 down town. From there, I usually get off at Madison and either park infront of 36th district court. If you really want Free Parking, go to Greek Town Casino and they offer a Free Valet service. Let them park your car, go into the casino, spend a few dollars in the slot machine and leave out the back door and walk to Tiger Stadium. I personally prefer parking right behind the Gem Theatre in the parking structure accross from 36th district court which is behind a little diner across from the back stadium enterance. Its $20 to park there, but well worth it if you hate to walk. Tiger Season Ticket Holder Ok Free Parking is a misnomer! The only way to get it is liek what folks have said-park on the other side of 75; someone may tell you that you need to pay but if there is no sign there tell them to eat dirt. The casino is your best option and sometimes there are shuttles running from the game to the casino. check greektowns website for details. BTW the METS are not going to beat the TIGERS because we ROOAARR our way into championships!! DIsclaimer-Please disregard the lackluster performance of the Pistons and RedWIngs who were impacted by some unknown universal force that we have shielded the TIGERS from. This epidemic has been stopped in its path and the Shock and Tigers will prove this! i hope this helps. For more info check out cityguide http://cityguide.aol.com/detroit... There is not any free parking around the park, but like others have said you can park at the casino and then take the people mover to the game. |
