Cooler place to stay.......Troy, MI or Detroit, MI? |
Travel Info Hey everyone. Me and some buds are going up to Detroit in October to catch some Red Wing games and party it up. The thing is we're torn between two suite hotels......one in Troy, MI and one in Detroit, MI (specifically, Greektown). For those of you familiar with both areas, which do you think is a better place to stay for three 21 year old guys lookin to have an awesome time and socialize at bars and stuff but with people around our age group? Thanks! Travel Tips You definitely want to stay downtown! There are many hotels to choose from. Downtown is where you will be able to do the most partying. There are many, many, many bars & clubs to check out and a decent variety of restaurants. The weather here in October should (hopefully) be very mild, so you could easily walk around Greektown. There is a small (very small) rail system called the "People Mover"...very original name, huh???? LOL! Anyway, the People Mover runs around downtown, so it is another transportation option. The Troy area is a nice suburban area...but not for partying. I go to Troy to shop & to eat.....that's it! Have fun! Source(s): I've lived here for 8 years. Other Travel Tips Greektown by far, if you like casino gambling - slots, table games, poker room - and it is cranked up 24/7. I'd agree............. Greektown Troy Mi is safer by far so in my opinion you should go there. If you go to Detroit just watch your back, it's full of crime. You couldn't pay me to go there no matter what. Enya<3 Troy is way nicer than Detroit. Don't go out to bars. Go to church and praise the Lord. Detroit has the best praise and worship churches. Detroit by far! You'll be able to walk to several different clubs, activities, etc. There are no clubs or other places in Troy that cater to ppl your age, unless you count Hooters, lol. Plus, you are just a hop over to Windsor, Canada, where most of the 18 to 20 yrs olds go so they can drink legally. You can still do church on Sunday. ;-) Bring your skateboards. |
