What is the safest city in Wayne County for your car? |
Travel Info I live in Southgate which is "allegedly" a low crime area. I found out today that it's not when I went outside and the wheels were missing off my car sitting under a carport. In a gated complex. When I lived in Taylor I never had a problem with my car being touched and it's a moderate crime area. Travel Tips I lived in Southgate for years. I had some crime pass my way, most notably when my dad was held up by 2 guys with shotguns. That was many years ago tho. About 3 years ago my car radio was stolen, but other than that it was mostly vandalism. Village Green Apartments is notable for its crime. I ddnt live there, but it was always on the blotter in the paper. If you are looking for a downriver city that has lower crime, try Allen Park or the part of Taylor that is closest to Allen Park Others Wyandotte would be my guess, or Taylor.. I never had a problem in either area Your car insurance company should be able to tell you this. I've had friends who have had the same experience as you did in supposedly nice communities, behind locked gates. The EXACT same experience. Cases like yours make insurance rates go up in any given area, even though it's not your fault. So "safe" is a relative term; it can happen anywhere, and insurance will be impacted. I'm very sorry this happened to you, but it really can happen anywhere; the best thing is a locked garage and an alarm anywhere. The Grosse Areas-all a part of Wayne County Grosse Ile, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Shores and Grosse Pointe Woods Grosse Ile-a tiny island is closer to the downriver area near you. i hope this helps Romulus is safe because the airplanes scare off potential thieves. I would have to second Canton, I pay less for two cars now than I did for one living in southgate. I work in southgate and it is a decent city, but most of downriver has its problems even woodhaven/ brownstown/ flatrock etc. We had a few break-ins in our area(plymouth twp, and canton twp) last summer but i guess it was a group of kids and they were caught last year. My neighbor leaves his garage door open half the time, and I park my new car in the street most nights and I haven't had a problem yet. I live in Canton, it is becoming very over populated. They did have to build a third high school. You are better off going north if you are looking for lower crime. |
