Dearborn is about 20 miles from Livonia if you take highway 96 east to the Southfield Freeway south. I work in Livonia so I'm pretty familiar with the routes. I work off 6 mile between Haggerty and Newburgh. Laurel Park is a nice mall which is right there off 6 Mile and Newburgh. There's a Holiday Inn, Comerica bank and Chase bank in front. From 6 mile you can hop on 275 south and immediately get in one of the 2 left lanes to get on 96 east. Then take that down to the Southfield freeway south. You're in Dearborn if you get off on either the Ford Rd or Michigan Ave exits.

Dearborn to Livonia is approximatly 25 miles. There are a couple different malls, Fairlane Town Center, Livonia mall, Westland Mall, Briarwood mall, Wonderland Mall..... and tons of shopping in between.
