Is Sterling Heights, MI ritzy or a middle-class city? |
Travel Info I have a friend from Queens who, when told I was from Sterling Heights, thought I was from Bloomfield Hills. I just want to set the record straight that Sterling Heights is NOT Grosse Pointe or Birmingham. Travel Tips Sterling Heights is generally considered to be an "Upper Middle" class suburb about 15 miles north of downtown Detroit. They have pretty good bus service from the city, lots of shopping malls and decent people overall. Others I am also from Michigan. I think Sterling Heights is a middle-class city. I'm sure like most other metro area suburbs it has it's higher end homes. You are correct Sterling Heights is definitely not a Grosse Pointe or Birmingham but it is a very nice place to live and it has a mixed culture out their. Okay......thanks for telling us you are from Sterling Heights. Shouldn't you then know yourself whether it is ritzy or middle class? Face it. You just need to get out of the Detroit area :) I am from Michigan too, the metro Detroit area to be exact and I would classify Sterling Heights as a working mans town, middle class and blue collar. They have a nickname for Sterling Heights but I won't say it here. I lived in Bloomfield Hills and those two areas are a total different arena. Sterling Heights is more so like Livonia in comparison. Even with nicknames. It is on the average higher end middle class i agree.. its not Grosse Pointe |
