I am considering a trip to the Dominican Rep in July (Puerto Plata, Cabarete). Advice? |
Travel Info Is this a good place to visit? Are the beaches nice? What is there to do there? How far to mountains and other attractions? Travel Tips Punta Cana has better beaches if that's important to you =) Others Don't go. http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw... I went to Punta Cana last year, and it is generally nice, but I was surprised by the European topless thing. Just beware that there may be some topless sunbathing and if you are bringing American kids they might not understand. Puerto Plata is really nice place,amazing beaches and resorts,more info available email: quinxy@dyanmicdestinationsinc.... Puerto Plata is located on the Atlantic side of the island. We did a tour of the island and we saw much poverty. It was an eye opener. We bought the kids candy and gum and some treats. If you go, don't forget the children. We enjoyed the beaches, people and culture but I prefer the southern part of DR much more. I liked Punta Cana and La Romano better.
