Travel Tips No it's pretty average =) Others Nah its pretty reasonable, just less the cost of a british or US taxi, and theyre very friendly! Food is a sore point, not too many restaurants due to most hotels being all inclusive therefore free food! Enjoy! Yes ,it has turned into a whoremongers paradise. A lot of rich people go there.Rush Limbaugh and other celebrities frequent there. They think all visitors have deep pockets. Now you change $1 dollar = 32 dominican pesos , taxis are cheap and depend the place you want to go, food you'll find : McDonalds, Taco Maker, Pizza Hut, all american Brand, inclusive TG Friday. This if you are on the Capital on Santo Domingo, in other places you could find somes no alls. Shopping Mall are great and comparing prices you will find good things. Movie there are Caribbean Cinemas also. American food very expensive. Taxi, if you find an honest one is not bad. Most Dominicans will rip you off so don't trust anyone. Always ask the taxi driver how much before you get in the car. I lived there 18 months and never met an honest Dominican. sorta Well, the taxi's are pretty cheap... there are a lot!! But the food is usually v. expensive, with a lot of taxes added on... so don't eat too much!!! |
