If you american do you need a visa to live in puerto rico or dominican republic? |
Travel Info I need to know. Travel Tips For Puerto Rico, no, you do not need a visa as it is technically part of the US. The DR is a different story. To live there you do need a visa. Check with the Dominican Embassy here in the US. http://www.domrep.org/ Others Nope.. For Puerto Rico, you only need an ID, and for Dominican Republic, you need a valid passport... I am an American citizen and recently moved to PR from Ohio. You do not need a visa to live here. Residents of PR are american citizens as well. In the DR you do need a visa to live there. PR has many cultural similiarities to PR but PR is more accessible and more developed than DR is. Correct answer. No and no with one exception. After 30 days in the Dominican Republic you have to pay taxes before you leave. They don't amount to much and it's cheaper to pay the taxes than to get a residency visa. Lived in the Dominican Republic Not for PR, it is a free commonwealth of the US. All the same rights, but less taxes. However you do need a visa for DR. |
