Anyone been to boca chica in the dominican rebublic? |
Travel Info whats it like? Travel Tips I have not personally been there, but I have sent a few folks there in the past 6 months. It is a very popular destination, is very conveniently located and offers just about all the categories of hotels, the amenities, and activities you'd expect from a major beach resort area. Other Travel Tips Lived there for 1 year, I personnaly don麓t like it because it麓s old and "touristtrap", I prefer Puerto Plata. But you have 3 hotels The Don Juan, The Hamaca, and the.... Boca Chica is closer to the Santo Domingo Airport than Santo Domingo. It is a beach town that has about the ugliest prostitutes I have ever seen. At night they close the main Street there and the women look like they came out of some horror movie. There are many more hotels than mentioned above. The beach is pretty polluted. There is a restaurant/bar on the beach run by a fellow from England Peter and his Belgium Partner Flemming that is a nice place to hang out. Looking from the beach the building is white and up a half flight of steps. Name is Playa Vista. I could name 20 other beaches in the country I would rather stay at. Only time I stay there is when I am flying out of that airport because it is so convienent. Sundays is a mad house. Dominicans from the city flock to the beaches and it is real crowded and very dirty because they don't pick up after themselves and leave their junk at/on the beach. Great destination but wrong town. I would recommend Puerto Plata, Samana, La Romana, etc. The problem with Boca Chica is that it is close to the city, so it's not as pristine as other beaches in other parts of the country. listen, do not pay attention to this haters!!! boca chica is a wonderfull place to go, u will love the beaches and really nice peole.. |
