Leaving on May 12 and it's been 9 weeks since I applied for my passport that I havent gotten.? |
Travel Info I called passport services and they said they would email whoever makes these things, and try to make mine a priority. I paid $1000 dollars for this trip and I really don't want to throw that away :( Travel Tips Have you checked online for the status of your passport? The date that they said mine would be arriving was actually true. Mine arrived on April 10. That was 10 1/2 weeks from date of application. Good Luck. This is a horrible situation. You would think that the government would have known how many people apply. I know that they did put on extra staff but really!!! Just remember to apply early when all these passports expire in 2017! Others that really really sucks. I know they've been taking forever since they changed the passport law requirements. I've heard people tell me that it's take 3 monts to get theirs. personally i think it's bullcrap and just another money making scheme from the government. what's wrong with a photo ID and birth certificate? absolutely nothing, that's what! you need to contact the passport office......email and CALL them. My husband expited his renewal one and we got it in 2 weeks They did a story on our local news just last night about this. A woman had applied for her passport 4 1/2 months ago and still had not received it. Her company was sending her on a business trip and she applied as soon as she got the heads up that she would be going. Firguring with almost 5 months she would be more than safe in getting her passport. WRONG. She called in and they informed her that it was in processing and if she wanted to drive 1500 miles they could give it to her then, if not it would be mailed and she would see it in about a week. Unfortunalty her trip was to be the next day and she didnt get to go. That was 2 weeks ago and she still hasnt seen her passport and according to passport services its still in processing and/ or in transit. I know this doesnt help you, but I wanted to share this with you since it was just on last night. Sending good luck vibes your way, hope you get yours in time! You should be getting your passport any day now. When we applied they told us anywhere between 6 - 8 weeks, we did receive it just about 8 weeks after applying. I would call again in a day or two just to make sure... Happy travel!! no since they have changed the whole pastport thing they have had a lot of truble getting them out to ppl. i would say keep calling and buging them till the day u got it!!! i hope u get to go!!! I know that they are EXTREMELY backed up with passports now, especially with all the rules. It used to be that all you needed was your birth certificate and valid photo ID. That has since changed. You need to contact your nearest post office (or passport office) and check the status of your passport. There are a few select passport offices that will expedite the process if you need within 2 weeks (which you do), not knowing where you're from I've attached the link, and hopefully you're close to one of those few offices (even if you have to make a day trip out of it)...hope all goes well. PLEASE NOTE YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to visit one of the offices. |
