Travel Tips You could certainly buy calling cards in the Punta Cana Region of the Dominican Republic. And they are not really expensive. One word of caution however, if you are staying at one the all included hotels, you must take into account that they, most likely, WILL charge you for all calls made from your room. (Not long distance, but local charges for all minutes). Others Yes they have calling cards, just ask your rep. Forget the calling cards. If you have a GSM mobile phone take it to an Orange Store and for 350 Pesos (11 bux more or less) you get a new chip with a Dominican Number and 100 Pesos of calls. Cost the same to call the states as it does locally on Orange so it is inexpensive and way more convienent. You can purchase cards from 100 pesos to 300 Pesos and make a lot of calls. Save the chip for when you return again so you can use the phone there. Real convienent.
