Travel Tips There are two schools of thought on this subject: One of the features of an all-inclusive resort is that it's "all inclusive" - meaning that gratuities to the staff are included in the price you've paid, and that no additional tipping is required or expected. It would be the same thing as paying for a drink when the drinks are included! Having said that, I always find that if someone provides exceptional service, a few bucks goes a VERY long way there. I've also found that if I give a buck or two to the bartender at the beginning of the week, I never have an empty glass. Life is good - enjoy! Other Travel Tips If it's like a cruise ship and you tip when you leave...nothing...what are they going to do chase you down at the airport ? When we went we tipped at the beginning but didn't get any better service than anyone else. So if you tip your maid she may make some swans out of your towels that sorta thing. But unless you get really good service it's a personal choice to tip or not to tip. And they are paid very little so a dollar is alot to them some people recommended school supplies for the maids instead since they are so expensive there for them to give to there children.Also you will pay $20 to leave the country and $10 to enter unless your tour covers it. The room maid: It is better to give her a tip at the start of your stay, so she will do better service in your room. Normally there are no tips in a all inclusive resort, but you can give always something (10 us = 320 pesos) or less to somebody of the staff you liked or you want to please him/her.
