In Santo Domingo, do they have normal U.S. foods? |
Travel Info In Santo Domingo, do they have normal U.S. foods? Travel Tips they have food that you will recognize but allot of the preparation is different. But be adventurous I mean no disrespect but American food is mostly just fried or grilled greasy yuck.. Give the Caribbean food a try its ultra fresh ( the seafood anyway) and cooked for the most part with the peak of perfection as to what season it may be. Others We went to SD last year and stayed at Hamaca by Hilton in Boca Chica.......the food was ok at the resort. We don't venture out while in the DR......We never seem to lose weight on vacation :-) Well what you call "normal" and they call"normal" are two different things. If they went to the U.S. they would probably not like your food. So to your answer, no everything will be different. If everythings the same, why would you want to travel anywhere? Stay at home where everything is NORMAL! ya they have a buger king and stuff. but try the DR food too. US food is made with different ingreatents so it will taste different but it will be better tasting! but the food down there is fresh no chemicals like what we do to be able to transport food to the us. been there The question is that you americans think that the only country in the world is yours! Are you really thinking that? Well you麓r wrong and I personnaly think that your country is a Mr Donald cuisine country and that you don麓t have any culture about cuisine. So before asking if Dominicans have "US normal food" think twice (if you can) A european guy I would say that there is, depending on what you mean by "normal US foods". Are there hamburgers? Yes. Are there hot dogs? Yes. Will you find grits? No. There is a wide variety of foods to be seen in Santo Domingo, including like someone has already said, food that you will recognize, but it just may taste different from what you are accustomed to. And of course there are a lot of things that you will not find anywhere in Santo Domingo, and a whole lot that you have never seen or will ever see in the US. You need to have an open mind when it comes to food. You will never know if you like it until you taste it. I hope that you enjoy your visit. |
