Resorts in Dominican Republic ideal for College students looking for good nightlife...? |
Travel Info A bunch of us College students are planning a trip to the Dominican. We want a location where there's beautiful beaches and sports during the day, but at night we'd like to go out to clubs, dance, do some drinking, etc. Are there any particular resorts that stand out in anyones minds? Thanks! Travel Tips I LOVED the Blue Bay Getaway Villas Doradas in Puerto Plata. It's adult only (racier entertainment, you also don't need to worry about tripping over little children) and also has a 24 hr bar on the beach. It's in Playa Dorada... a gated tourist compound. There's several bars & clubs on the compound within walking distance and always a pack of people going with a few of the Animacion staff. I can guarentee a good time, there! Others ive been to almost all of the islands and punta cana was my least favorite, why? stay clear of the grand paradise, it should have been called grand HELL, food was horrible , service did not exist, can wait till you turn old in age to get a drink at the bar, and have you ever heard of a resort that had no ice?the room, small, dirty, and 2 out of the 4 pople in my family spent 5 out of the 7 dys there in the hospital, please go to cancun, the mexican peole are great, friendly food was great , and where else can you get a corona for 50 cents, the beach was nice in ounta cana, but very unsafe to go out on your own, and there was no nite life I would suggest for you to stay a couple of nights in Santo Domingo and a couple of night in Boca Chica or Juan Dolio, just outside of Santo Domingo. Santo Domingo doesnt have a beach, but great party places, great restaurants, and some historical sites to visit (you can visit them all in one day). Juan Dolio or Boca Chica are about 20-30min from Sto Domingo, and have nice beaches and are a great place to be on the beach during the day and party at night. Do a search here on yahoo answers and you will find great answers.... Whatever you do, don't stay in Bayahibe. Nightmare experience at the Wyndham Dominicus Beach resort. They gouge you on taxis to go into La Romana and the food was horrible. Whatever you do, don't stay at that dump.
