Which Hotel/Resort would be recommended in Dominican Republic? |
Travel Info ive heard things about Casa Marina, although the downfall is that the bars stay open till 11 pm ... i was wondering what would be recommended for an age group of 18-23, who want to have a good time in the carriibean.. any feedback is greatly appreciated! Travel Tips It depends on what part of DR you are going to... If it is Puerto Plata..My clients like the Riu properties. They are known for their liquor dispensors in the rooms. Riu Merengue, Riu Mambo, Riu Bachata, they are in a Riu complex together, and if you stay at the Riu Bachata you have access to the other properties.... If you are going to Punta Cana...The same goes for there as well...I will list them from the lowest star rating up...Riu Naibo, Riu Taino, Riu Bambu, Riu Palace Macao, and the new Riu Palace Punta Cana.... All these have nightly shows, casinos, non motorized watersports ( included), discos....there are alot of things to do for your age group.... you can go to www.riu.com and check out the hotels, and ALL that you get when staying in a Riu property... Source(s): I am a travel agent Other Travel Tips I was in the Dominican Republic in December 2004 and stayed at Secrets Excellence( Punta Cona) the resort was great but there is nothing to do there unless you want to spend alot of money. And you have to be escorted around (it's not safe there outside the resort or any resort for that matter)The resort offers a verity of things to do.This resort is adults only 18 and up.So it was real quiet most of the time. The entertainment is top notch the food is real good.It doe's help if you speak Spanish. You can't drink the water. Now if you want to have a real good time go to Jamaica I was there in Dec 2005 and would go back in a minuet. But I would not go back to the Dominican Been there.Done that Goggle search hotels/resort in the Dom. Rep. specifically in the area you plan to stay at, a lot of times you can get a virtual tour, and will tell you the amenities and things for that matter. 100% Dominican. Theyhave many beautiful resorts there, do some research: |
