Any traveled people out there that know insider tips on how to get the ocean view room for beach frnt resorts? |
Travel Info Note that when booking, there is no option for it. Does it matter if you book through the acutal resort as opposed to through a discount site Travel Tips in punta cana there is a line of hotels that is called bavaro and they have great servise and when you get there they ask u if u prefer ocean, pool, or garden view some of their hotels are bavaro beach bavaro golf and bavaro palace and another great hotel line in the rep dom is the hotels meli谩 !!! Source(s): experienced traveler------me myself and i Other Travel Tips You request it and verify about a week later that it's booked as such. that shouldn't matter. They will tell you all kinds of things but in reality it all goes down once you get there. We always wait until we check in to address this. It usually will cost you an extra 50 but if it's worth it to you...........Don't take "no" for an answer. You may not want to haggle with them but just be persistent. They always have ocean-view available and remember........"you get half of what you ask for........and nothing of what you don't." Good Luck. I guess it depends on where you are trying to go. If it's outside the Continental U.S. I do not know what limitations there may be. However, my husband and I went to Myrtle Beach for the July 4th and found a wonderful oceanfront room online through Priceline. I believe we were very lucky since it appeared there was only one available. Oceanfront rooms reserve quickly and there may be none online simply because there are none available. I would call the hotel directly and perhaps they have some that they have not released to the Internet sites. Each hotel has discretion to which rooms are available to the different Internet sites and franchise hotel databases. I was a front desk manager at a beach property and many times in the summer, I would block the franchise's access to my rooms available because there was a chance of overselling the hotel with the 800# operators, sister franchise properties, and my employees simultaneously reserving rooms. Be careful with the terminology hotels use. An oceanview room is typically a room with a partial view of the ocean, with better view from the balcony. An oceanfront room is one that directly faces the ocean. Good luck and enjoy your beach vacation! Hotel front desk manager for 5 years When booking directly with the resort you MUST specify that that is the type of room you want. When booking with the discounted traavel companies (preferreably over the phone) you may request it but there may/may not be a guarantee on you getting that particular room. Check the fine print or ask your sales representative. |
