I don't know that you would want to. There is nothing in Punta Cana but Resorts. I could see renting one in a bigger centre.

Here is a site with rentals on it. There are some great resorts to stay at as well, try the Paradisus Palma Real, it's under a year old and it is amazing. Enjoy!
