When is the cheapest time of year to go to the dominican republic?

Travel Info
really want to take my hubby to dominican republic and both of us have had our jabs. money is a bit tight at the moment though but wondered when the cheapest time of year to go was?

Travel Tips
September is cheap! Very, very, cheap.

Can't say what the deals are like from the US but from Canada September is the cheapest time of year to travel to the Caribbean.

On the outside chance that you can get yourself to Toronto an all-inclusive, last minute package deal from Toronto will run you anywhere from $500-$700 Canadian Dollars, taxes included, You'll find similar prices from Montreal too.

For example if you look at http://www.itravel2000.com for Sept 9th, prices start at $1341.80 CND for two (taxes in) for an all inclusive. So airfare, hotel, all your drinks and food for about $600 USD per person, hard to beat that but It could be even less if you can wait and book really last minute - IE book Thursday for a Sunday departure you'll get it for even less.

Best September cheap travel advice - book really late and check the site below for tropical storms/hurricanes before you book:

http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/...

Summary: cheapest times are when there is the most inventory, they are:

1. September - kids are back in school and families don't travel + people are afraid of hurricanes

2. May - kids aren't out of school yet and the weather in the US and Canada is starting to warm up/be warm.

An earlier poster made a point about middle of summer being good - it's generally not as cheap as you would think for two reasons. 1. North American demand is higher because families travel and there are events like weddings and honeymoons. 2. Europeans travel a lot in August and demand from places like Germany and Italy is way, way up. Demand for rooms can be as high in August as it is in January.

Have fun good luck and don't worry about Hurricanes, despite what CNN says, the chances of you getting hit are rare.

Damn it that's a lot of typing for two points!

typically the cheapest time of the year to travel to tropical locations is the off-season. Like any time that isn't the summer. try travel sites that you can enter dates....like Nov or Dec to the Dominican Republic prolly would be the cheapest.
Hurricane/typhoon season, cheap as chips that time of the year.
try lastminute.com,, they do some really good priced holidays on there,, i have been to Dominica Republic twice now, and you get good weather most of the time,, Sept to March price is reasonable, depends on what type of hotel accomodation you want,, try looking at Club Ameigo its all inclusive and well worth it!!
Trust me..don't go !

There are so many hotels being shut down with health and bug scares all the time !

For the same price, you can go to Cuba, which is a lot nicer, and cleaner.

Or how about Mexico ! Give that a go !

Now will be the cheapest time to go, as it's classed as hurricane season !

Good luck if you decide on Dominican republic !
i went in october ...when it was in the 35 degrees out there....

at the time it cost over 700 per person...

goodluck finding sumtin cheap for dominican...
