Travel Info
Does the u.s. goverment keep records when you travel to the dominican republic?

Travel Tips
Yes, every international travel is recorded. Even though for the DR only a birth certificate and ID is required now, they make a documentation of where you have traveled to or from.

When you get a US passport it has a bar code that will be scanned and a record is kept.

Have no doubt though, whatever documentation you travel with, as long as it is international travel it is recorded (even if you use a foreign passport).

IF YOU ARE A US CITIZEN ALL YOU NEEDED WAS YOUR BIRTH CERTIFACATE TO GET BY CUSTOMS BUT AS OF DEC. 31, 2006 PASSPORTS ARE GOING TO BE REQUIRED. SO YOUR ANSWER TO NOW IS NO BUT IN THE FUTURE A RECORD WILL BE KEPT ON YOUR PASSPORT.
