Thanks Beth at Woodstream Travel i went 2x both times i didnt like it!1st i went to puerta plata at the jack tar village then i went to la romana to casa de campo resort now i hear the new place is punta cana but i wont go again I would recommend the north coast. Go to Sosua or Cabarete. First of all you麓ll find a huge variety of hotels plus you find also "real" life there, not only hotels and beach. I live in the area and most tourists I met just loved it because here they have it all: beach, night life, you can do tours into the mountains, to waterfalls or you can go horseback riding or snorkeling....and so much more. A very good hotel in Sosua is for example the Sosua Bay Hotel, it is 4 star rated and very nice located directly on the Sosua Bay. There are hotels in the area that are less expensive but nice as well like the Casa Marina Beach or the Casa Marina Reef. Cabarete is also interesting if you麓re into surfing, kite surfing etc. and the crowd there is younger. I live here for ten years now and have never regreted it. Just come and see & have a good trip - maybe we麓ll met :-) Beautiful hotels. HOT weather. I've been and would never go back. You can't leave some of the hotels at night because it's too dangerous.
