Travel Info I want to go to the Dominican Republic (Porta Plata). I require a waver to travel in the USA. If I am flying direct from Ottawa Canada to the Dominican Republic will I have to go through any US customs, or only security in Canada and Dominican customs. Travel Tips I don't quite understand your question. If you go nonstop from ottawa to puerto plata , you will not encounter US customs at all. You will go through dominican immigration when you arrive in puerto plata and will have to pay for a tourist card for a price equal to $10 US. When you return to Ottawa you will go through Canadian imigration on arrival in Ottawa. US customs is not involved unless you have a connecting flight in USA. Others *Puerto Plata* When you get to POP Arpt. You have to go throught US customs, when u pass the Gates onto Dominican land. IDK how much one dollar is in Canada but in American Money there is a fee for 10 Dollars in DR. i don't think you will see any US custom. so i don't think u need the waiver. just my thoughts No you should not have to go thru US customs. |
