As for what I know, there's no regulation in that aspect here in the DR... so yes, it's probably legal.

Well i have lived here in the beautiful dominican republic for about 15 months now and as to my knowledge the only thing illiegal in this country is talking on your cellphone while driving... no joke no one really cares what you do and thats what makes it such a magical place!
