Their country of origin. Domincans come from the dominican republic, puerto ricans come from puerto rico. They're all the same race however. Kinda like the difference between someone from california and someone from missouri. Same race, different place.

The majority on people in the Dominican Republic are black african. This is not true in Puerto Rico.
other than the obvious of being two different islands in the Caribbean? like many island people they are influenced with French, Spanish, Indian and African influences..some are more predominate as islands were occupied with the influences.
