Has anyone ever stayed at the grand bahia principe at punta cana? |
Travel Info Is it nice? Did you like it? Travel Tips My friend got married there in Dec 2005. It was absolutely beautiful but no one had a clue what they were doing. It was obviously new and nothing had been streamlined at all. Some of the staff were unbelievablely rude as well. Me and my roommate had trouble the whole week with out key cards not working. They keep sending repairmen and making us walk 15 minutes to pick up new cards at the front desk. Finally one night I asked the guy to have someone bring it and he refused and hung up on me. Our rep was really good and tried but it was unending. The grooms parents had quite the bug infestation. They did something about it but dragged their heals. We booked meals twice at specialty restaurants. Once at the Japanese one where the food was not very good and we sat at a Tappanaki table and watched a Domincan man slowly fry our food. There was no reason to sit a a Tappenaki table. The worst was when we tried the Mexican restuarant and we were split into 2 tables. The one table was one their dessert by the time my table appitizers arrived so we ended up leaving and eating at the main buffet anyway. Now I am complaining a lot but it was brand new then so I can believe that they may have made some improvements by now. As I said it is a very beautiful resort and the rooms for the Gold Club were amazing. While I wasn't impressed by the food (although the local rabbit and chicken were nice) the drinks were good and plentiful which at least kept us entertained. Others me just came back from a vacation there its very nice peacefull best place to unwind and enjoy the sun and beaches I stayed there last February. It was great but I stayed in the adult only section called the premiere section but when I went to book my trip this year it sounded like they closed it. At least that is what my travel agent said so if you want adult only then ask when you get there if it's still available otherwise the resort is gorgeous and I had a great time! |
