There are no more direct flights between Orlando and the Dominican Republic. Pan-Am Clipper use to have a direct flight from Orlando-Sanford Airport (in the suburb of Sanford) but that service was discontinued. Since there is not a huge Dominican population in Orlando, airlines will not likely offer direct flights between the island and Orlando. Mexico (AeroMexico), Panama (Copa Airlines), and Puerto Rico (JetBlue, Delta, American) are the only Spanish-speaking countries that have direct flights to Orlando. To go the Dominican Republic, your best bet is to catch a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico and connect with American Airlines/American Eagle to the Dominican Republic. Source(s): Travel Expert

While no airline flies directly to Orlando from Puerto Plata or Punta Cana, major carries such as Delta and US Air can get you there by connecting either through Atlanta or Charlotte. A smaller airline called Spirit Airline also flys to Orlando by connecting through Fort Lauderdale.

Only one that may do this is Spirit to Santo Domingo Airport which is closer to Boca Chica than to Santo Domingo.

They may be flying to Puerto Plata next year. They were offered a very sweet deal both by the government and the firm that runs the airport to get them there along with Jet Blue.
