Travel Info I'll be flying out of Miami. Travel Tips A new airport was just inaugarated in Nagua which is about 30 kilometers from Samana to serve the Samana and Las Terenas region of the country with international flights. There is a small airport in Samana that only accepts small planes and non commercial flights. Name of the Airport is El Catey and it is only taking Charter flights from Europe and Canada at the moment. Probably schedualed airlines later in the year. If you are flying from the US try flying into Puerto Plata till schedualed flights are started into El Catey. POP is the airport code. It is a two hour ride to Samana and a hour and a half flight from Miami. American is who you should look at for the flight as they are the only flight directly from Miami. Flight number is 979 coming in and 978 leaving Scott Others there is an airport in samana, but only charters are getting there. you might try either Puerto Plata's airport (POP) or Santo Domingo's airport (SDQ), Puerto plata is closer but they are both far. Santo Domingo is around 5 hours from samana, and puerto Plata is less but not so much less than that |
