Punta Cana trip feb 27-Mar8. Should I reserve excursions in advance of arrival? |
Travel Info We are staying at the Allegro. Comments on any of the following woud be great: -Horseback riding -I have read that the dolphins are treated poorly at the "swim with dolphins" place. -any tours/day trips to recommend? How much do these activities cost? Use an 3rd party operator or do everything through the hotel? -is it too scary to rent a car? -we want to visit friends at another AI resort. will we be allowed to hang out there w/o aggravation? Thanks! AMy Travel Tips I loved Punta Cana ! Although, I have never stayed at the Allegro. You can book the excursions when you get to the hotel. Horse back riding is great on the beach. Helicopter tour of the island cost me 90.00 US You also shouldn't miss the Bavaro Runners, I don't remember the price, but it's an all day tour that starts off at a sugar cane plantation, has horseback riding included, you get to eat at an authentic Dominican Home and meet the people. Also, you go through small villages on your way to different areas and see what the DR really looks like. I wouldn't rent a car, it is scary with what the roads look like. If you are going to an all-inclusive hotel they give you a bracelet when you get there to prove that you belong there, our friends tried to visit us at our hotel and weren't allowed further than the lobby. We went on the outback safari, this is great you get to the island how the people live, go to school, etc. get to go boogie boarding. We also went para sailing, ATV, snorkeling, trip to San Domingo (not enough shopping time). Apple Representatives can sign you up for a trip that you want to go on. or there is a place on the beach to do other thing. if you do go the place on the beach do not pay ahead of time. the cost of the trips that apple does range in price. own I prefer to book them the day before or the same day. Most tours are outside activities and I will have a better weather forecast the day before. Sometimes you can negotiate discounts on larger groups. The safari ride, the 4 wheeler tour and the la romana-isla saona tours are the bests. You can't visit other AI, but most of them sells one day passes.
