Need recommendations on Dominican Republic activities and feedback on resort? |
Travel Info I'm planning to travel to the DR in May. Aside from laying on the beach, what fun places should I visit? (I'm a 24 yo female traveling alone. I don't swim.) I'm staying in Puerto Plata, but I plan on visiting other places like Santo Domingo & Samana. Also, where should I go to buy artwork? I'd like to take a painting or statue back home w/ me. Finally, has anyone stayed at Sun Village Resort & Spa in Puerto Plata? If so, how was it? Travel Tips I am planning on travelling to Puerto Plata at the end of March! If youd like more information, check out bookit.com and tripadvisor.com. Those are 2 great websites for reviews on hotels AND things to do. Bookit has a great travel guide section and will tell you everything you need to know. Tripadvisor has honest reviews on tons of resorts and a lot of personal pictures from people's vacations. Check them out! Others You picked a great hotel. It is probably the nicest Hotel in the area for sure. Be sure to go to Ocean World while there. They invested multi millions of dollars to make a great place and it is worth going. Be sure to go to Sosua and Cabarete. At your age I would probably recommend Cabarete as there is a young sports minded crowd there who do water sports during the day and party all night on the beach. If you get to Sosua which is on the way, stop into QuiXotes Restaurant for breakfast or lunch and say hello. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. I am in the restaurant every day from 8am to 1:30pm. |
