Tell me about some of the problelms in dominican republice? |
Travel Info ^^ the tilte says it all^^ Travel Tips 1-Electricity 2-Corruption 3-Unemployment 4-Deforestation 5-Poverty The Dominican Republic is a rich country but it has been poorly administered for years. One of the biggest problems here is the energetic crisis. There are blackouts everyday and most of the population has no permanent electricity and must buy generators or devices which store power, which are very expensive. There's a long history of dictatorships and bad governments and leaders who have used the country's resources to enrich themselves, their families and friends. Others I just got back from a week there in Punta Cana and had not problems. I heard of nothing out of the ordinary happen. I've lived in many countries, including the US. All have their share of poverty, corruption and other problems. However, DR has one thing that the US doesn't...very happy people. People that are willing to work at hard jobs and people that don't want to sit in front of a tv (if they have one) all the time. DR is full of beautiful beaches, resorts and other tourism opportunities to employ people that otherwise might not be employoed. Yes, there is poverty but can you go to college for FREE in the US, the UK or any place else? All countries have corruption - all countries. Just some countries try to lie their way out of it...need I mention any names? If you're not a part of the solution...don't be a part of the problem. |
