Vaction to Dominican Republic?

I would like to know where's a good place in DR to go to. I usually stay at my family's house in the campos in Santiago, and everyone knows that staying in the campo is boring. I would be staying in a hotel with me and my girl, but i don't know where to stay.

In POP I stayed at the Occidental Grand, it's a 4 star and no complaints, walking distance to clubs, shopping in Playa Dorada

In PUJ I stayed at the Gran Bahia Principe!
This hotel was Awesome, beautiful beaches, nice rooms, great entertainment at the hotel.

Others
I would suggest Puerto Plata or Cabarete, I love them both!
punta cana is the best place to go. I swear, you would not forget that incredible experience
I would go to Punta Cana or La Romano area.

Playa Sosua is not far from Santiago and there are inexpensive hotels down near the beach. There are also apartments to rent. Look on DR1.com for listings. The big resorts have their own beaches off limits to outside guests. We have gone for the day from Santiago it isn't very far maybe 90 minutes tops depending on how you drive. You can also drive south of Santiago about 90 minutes up into the mountains by La Vega. Our absolute favorite beach is in Perdernales in Jaragua National Park. It is really long drive from Santiago because you have to drive to Santo Domingo and then west to the Haitian border. The hotels are cheap.
